Lovely gold filigree and Aquamarine ring–Art Deco
This is such a lovely ring. Can be worn as an engagement ring, or an every-day ring. The band has delicate filigree work all around the stone and on the shoulders. There are flowers on each tapered edge of the ring. The Aquamarine is a favorite stone of mine. I always look for good color and clarity in Aquamarines. This stone is old European cut and a fine sky blue color. Not pale or washed out like many Aqua’s you see today. The stone measures approx. 8mm round. I would have to remove the stone to get the exact ct. weight, and I don’t want to do this. The shape with the 2 points, one at each end is called a “navette” shape. The top measures 3/4″ X 1/2″. Ring size is 5 3/4, weight is 3.0grms. I would date this fine ring at c1920′s.
