Georgian Blue Enamel Mine Cut Diamond Ring
Fantastic Georgian blue enamel mine cut diamond ring. This tests for 18K yellow gold. The top has tiny seed pearls (tears) and 18 mine cut diamonds. The cobalt blue enamel is champleve enamel, where the design behind the enamel was etched by hand and then the translucent enamel was placed over it. On the inside there is hand engraving that says ” Emily Dawson Obt. 6th Mar 1789″. The ring is a size 4 but could be resized. The top of the ring measures 1 1/4″ X almost 3/4″. This special ring is truly one of a kind. One tiny area on the enamel has minor loss at the 9 o’clock position. Amazing condition for a ring over 200 years old.
