Lovely delicate Art Nouveau gold Lavaliere
This is a sweet little Lavalier–a lavalier is a light scaled necklace usually consisting of pendant or pendants suspended from a chain. This lavalier does not have a chain. It has a baroque natural pearl appendage. The word Lavalier was probably derived from the Duchess de la Valliere, a mistress of Louis XIV. There is a center Amethyst with seed pearls on the sides. There is one small round white cultured pearl with the baroque pearl dangle. The piece is stamped 10K. It measures with the bail 1 3/8″ X 5/8″. I would date this lovely piece at c1890′s-1910.
