» Victorian Jet earrings with porcelain paintings of chlldren

Lovely Victorian earrings made of Jet ( a very light weight black or brownish black material which is a variety of the coal family). These earrings have 2 blond haired children, they may be both boys or girls–I cannot tell. The paintings are on Porcelain. Both children have their hands in prayer. The earrings without the ear-wire measure 7/8″ X 5/8″. The ear-wires are not original, not hallmarked, but tested 14K gold with acids. Minor surface scratch to one earring, otherwise very good condition for age. I would date these at c1860′s.
