Lovely Victorian 14K gold brooch and earring set. These sets have become hard to find. Both the brooch and earrings are not hallmarked but I have tested them with acids and they tested 14K gold. The leverbacks also tested 14K gold. The brooch and earrings have black and white enamel on gold. The small seed pearls in the brooch are a platinum color. The earrings have both white seed pearls and gray seed pearls. The seed pearls in Victorian times represent tears. The brooch measures 1 1/2″ X 1″. There is minor lead solder on the back edge of the brooch as you can see. The backs of the earrings have more lead solder and some darkening from the solder. This does not detract from the fronts. The earrings have newer leverbacks and hang about 1 1/4″ from the ear. Condition is very good for age. I would date this fine Victorian set at c1860′s-80′s
