» Lovely simple Victorian garnet earrings

These are wonderful Victorian Garnet earrings that could be worn every day. The metal is garnet gold–4K gold. There are 6 rose cut garnets in each earring. These have newer ear-wires that were applied with lead solder. You can see this on the backs. Lead solder was also used to strengthen the backs of both earrings. In addition, gold was used on one earring back, I am assuming for repair. These repairs were done way before my time. The earrings measure 5/8″ long. I tested the wires with acids and they are gold filled. No hallmarks. I would date these great earrings at c1860′s-80′s.Product #5535
