» Victorian garnet and rose cut diamond, pearl brooch/pendant

This is a glorious piece is Victorian jewelry. The metal tested 12K gold, and the newer removable pin-back is stamped 12/20 gold filled. This pin-back was added long ago because the pendant loop is removable. The clasp is a safety clasp. There are flat topped Garnets and rose cut diamonds throughout. A cultured white pearl is in the center. The piece has movement as well with a garnet and diamond dangle at the bottom. The pendant/brooch measures 1 1/2″ wide X 1 3/4″ long. The metal that encloses the diamonds is silver. I would date this great Victorian piece at c1860′s-80′s.
